This Privacy Policy explains how LuxHire collects, stores, uses, and shares your personal information. By using our platform, you agree to the practices described below.

1. What Information We Collect

• Full name, date of birth, and contact details
• Email address and login credentials
• Profile information, work history, and uploaded CVs
• Photos and identity verification documents
• Business registration information (for employers)
• Platform usage data, including access times and IP addresses

2. How We Use Your Information

• To verify identity and eligibility to use the platform
• To create and display your job seeker or employer profile
• To connect job seekers with verified employers
• To send platform notifications and important updates
• To improve user experience and platform security

3. How We Share Information

• We may share your information with verified employers who are searching for candidates.
• We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
• We may disclose information to comply with legal obligations or protect our platform against misuse.

4. Data Storage & Security

• Your data is stored securely on trusted cloud services (e.g., Firebase, Google Cloud).
• We implement encryption, access control, and verification tools to protect your data.
• Despite reasonable security measures, we cannot guarantee absolute security of uploaded content.

5. Overseas Disclosures

Your information may be stored or processed using third-party services (for example, Google Cloud/Firebase and our payment provider) which may host data outside New Zealand (such as in Australia, the United States, or other locations). We take reasonable steps to ensure any overseas recipient protects your personal information with safeguards comparable to those in the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 (Information Privacy Principle 12), including by using appropriate contractual terms.

6. Access and Correction (Privacy Act 2020)

You can request access to, and correction of, the personal information we hold about you by emailing support@luxhire.co.nz. We will respond to access requests within 20 working days as required by the Privacy Act. We may need to verify your identity before actioning a request. If we refuse a request, we’ll tell you why (where permitted by law).

7. Notifiable Privacy Breaches

If a privacy breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (OPC) in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020. We will also take steps to minimise any harm and prevent a recurrence.

8. Direct Marketing & Communications

We may send service and marketing communications about LuxHire. You can opt out of marketing at any time via the unsubscribe link or by emailing support@luxhire.co.nz. Service messages (e.g., security and billing notices) may still be sent.

9. Cookies & Tracking

• We use cookies to enhance site functionality, remember login details, and analyze usage trends.
• You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work properly.

10. Payment Information

Payments for subscriptions and CV unlocks are processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers. Limited billing metadata (e.g., last 4 digits, expiry month/year, payment intent IDs) may be retained for reconciliation and fraud prevention.

11. Data Retention

• We retain your data as long as your account is active or as required by law.
• You may request account deletion at any time via email at support@luxhire.co.nz.
• When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or anonymise it.

12. Children / Eligibility

LuxHire is intended for users aged 18+ and for employers using the service in trade. We do not knowingly collect personal information from persons under 18.

If you have concerns about our handling of your personal information, please contact us at support@luxhire.co.nz. If we can’t resolve your concern, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner: www.privacy.org.nz.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
